Spotlight: Alicia Kohlepp and Susie Baker – A Nationwide Mother-Daughter Duo

This month, we’re excited to highlight the dynamic mother-daughter duo of Alicia Kohlepp and Susie Baker, whose dedication and growth have impacted the Nationwide team.

Alicia began her journey with Nationwide in 2012, bringing a unique perspective from her experience as a legal assistant at a mortgage foreclosure law firm. She found the shift from foreclosure to helping families buy and refinance homes both refreshing and fulfilling. A quick learner and team player, Alicia quickly advanced to her current role as an Inside Account Manager, where she continues to thrive and embrace new challenges. Outside of work, Alicia’s creativity and generosity are unmatched. She enjoys spending time outdoors, attending festivals with family and friends, and decorating her yard with elaborate holiday displays—her favorite being her festive skeleton scenes. Alicia is also deeply committed to giving back, hosting clothing drives, adopting families in need during the holidays and back-to-school seasons, fostering children, and finding ways to pay it forward at every opportunity.

Following in her mom’s footsteps, Susie Baker has been part of the Nationwide family since she was a teenager. At 14, she began spending time at the office with Alicia, but officially joined the team in 2016 as a summer intern. After the summer ended, Susie continued interning while attending college, with Nationwide working around her school schedule to help her succeed. In late 2017, Susie decided to leave college, and after some convincing from upper management—and Alicia—she was offered a full-time role as a customer service representative at just 19. She spent three years excelling in the position before earning a promotion to Customer Service Manager in 2020. In her current role, Susie oversees a team of seven, managing every stage of the order process from appraiser acceptance to final delivery to the Quality Control team. Her team handles everything from phone support and scheduling updates to ensuring orders stay on track.

Both Alicia and Susie are deeply rooted in family and community. Alicia loves hosting parties and spending quality time with her large extended family, which includes 8 aunts and uncles and over 20 cousins. Susie carries on the same family-first values. She and her boyfriend bought a home in 2021, where they live with their beloved 7-year-old cat, Barry. She also adores her niece and nephew, Nadia (8) and Jeremiah (5), who bring her endless joy, and cherishes her close relationship with her younger brother. Both Alicia and Susie prioritize family gatherings, ensuring they see their loved ones at least once or twice a week.

Together, Alicia and Susie embody dedication, creativity, and a passion for making a difference—both within the Nationwide team and in the community they call home.
